The majority of the headphones included happen to be over ear headphones.

The ability to listen to your headphones wireless has really changed the way we live life.

Wireless headphones are not just items that are worn by punk skateboarders, but they are part of our daily lives.

We wear wireless headphones on our commute to work, when wanting to eliminate the noise of modern day office spaces and even when working out.

Bluetooth technology has come a long way. It used to be that Bluetooth could only reach a few meters but now Bluetooth can reach up to 100m/330ft (with class 1 Bluetooth devices) and connectivity was a problem.

Now days the last thing that anybody wants is to have to be interrupted from their favorite movie or entertainment all because the battery ran out.

Well without further ado lets take a look at the ten best wireless headphones and earbuds with the longest battery life.

10. Bowers and Wilkins PX

These are a classic set of over ear wireless noise cancelling headphones. They even made the list of the Top noise cancelling headphones.

The only downside to these cans is that you have to contend with less padding than we have usually become accustomed to with Bowers and Wilkins.

When the active noise cancellation is turned on, the headphones can go for 24 hours before needing a recharge.

With noise cancellation turned off, the headphones can go for up to 30 hours.

This is a little disappointing as most of the headphones in this category and at this price range are pushing 40 hours of battery life without noise cancellation.

Bowers and Wilkins PX

For reasons unknown to me, or anyone else for that matter the Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones do not come with quick charging capability.

You would expect that at this price range quick charging would be standard.

The headphones weigh a hefty 355 grams, which is not too heavy but certainly 100 grams heavier than the standard noise cancelling headphones.

The headphones are Bluetooth 4.1 compatible.

I don’t quite understand the logic of being USB type C compatible and then designing the headphones with Bluetooth 4.1, I would have imagined that the headphones would come with Bluetooth 5.0.

The Bowers and Wilkins PX can be connected to a maximum of 2 devices at the same time, which is OK, and a minimum expectation in this day and age.

The Bowers and Wilkins is generally Good for sub 2 hour listening sessions

9. Soul X-Tra headphones

Now these headphones are probably not the most famous headphone brand out there, but they certainly are a formidable set of over ear wireless headphones.

In fact These are some of the best gym headphones around. Depending on how you look at it, these headphones are tied at number 7 as the best wireless headphones with the best battery life with a total of 24 hours.

The headphones can go for 24 hours un-wired. So, if you average 1 hour at the gym, that’s a total of 3 weeks of listening time.

3 weeks before you need to recharge these bad boys is amazing. Of course, do remember that your battery lasts depending on the way you use your headphones.

Keeping up with the latest in headphone technology, the headphones come with a fast charging option.

Fast charging of just 15 minutes provides 2.5 hours of play time, or 2.5 gym sessions.

Soul XTRA Headphones

The amount of battery life will also depend on whether you have the safety LED light on or off. The 24-hour time frame is for when the safety light is off.

The headphones also come with a safety light for those people who enjoy exercising in the night.

If the safety light is on then the headphones will go for 8 hours of continues use before they need a recharge.

The Plantronics backbeat Pro 2 SE come with a battery life of 24 hours with noise cancellation and Bluetooth on.

The longer battery life is powered by Plantronics’ smart power management system.

The battery life is at the upper end for wireless noise canceling headphones’ which I thought was very impressive.

The battery is a rechargeable, non-replaceable lithium polymer and has a charging capacity of 3 hours.

7. iTeknic Bluetooth Headphones Neckband:

This is the first entrant on the list that does is not a set of over ear wireless headphones.  I would probably classify these as a set of wireless ear buds instead.

These wireless earbuds come with 24 hours of super long playback.

This is possible due to iTeknics superb innovative charging technology which enables low power consumption and hence provides 24 hours, yes a full day of listening and talk time  with only a 2 hour recharge

These earbuds are also very versatile as they can be used for ordinary every day use and can also be used in the gym.

The earbuds come with 10mm dynamic drivers which pump a rich quality and diverse sound.

The includes CSR chip provides HD stereo sound and amassing Bass.

6. BlueAnt Pump Zone Wireless

Much Like the Soul X-Tra headphones on this list, BlueAnt is a relatively unknown entity in the wireless headphone segment.

They are perhaps one of the most underrated headphones out there. So why is it on this list ? Well

The Brand from Down Under has a lot in common with Brands such as the beats, especially when it comes to the performance of the bass.

I do not know how they got this done, but the BlueAnt Pump Zone is able to provide 30 hours of playback time before the cans need to be recharged. That is incredible.

BlueAnt Pump Zone

The headphones come with Bluetooth 4.1 which should work with most Bluetooth devices.

The headphones are NFC enabled. Meaning that they can pair with other NFC devices. NFC stands for near field communication.

5. Sony WH-1000XM3

The current champ in the wireless over ear active noise cancelling segment.

Arguably the best noise cancelling headphones ever created the Sony 1000XM3 headphones provide listening pleasure of 30 hours with the ANC turned on.

With noise cancellation turned off, the battery can last up to 38 hours, nonstop. It takes about 3 hours to charge the battery to full capacity from empty.

The quick charging is the best that I have ever come across. Just 10 minutes of charging, gives you 5 hours of battery life.

Adaptive sound control automatically detects if you’re travelling, waiting or walking and adjusts the ambient sound settings accordingly.

4. ATH-M50xBTATH-M50xBT

Another Brand that is perhaps not as well known in the over ear wireless headphone category as the likes of Sony and Bose is the ATH-M50xBT by Audio Audio-Technica.

This is yet another Japanese brand on this list.

The ATH -M50xBT is on this list because of the 40 hour battery life capability.

I tested these headphones out and they actually did manage to go the full 40 hours.

But this is possible as the headphones are not the most feature rich headphones out there. Never the less they do deliver very decent performance at a good price.

ATH-M50xBT

Voice assistants can be accessed by touch controls and the built in mic provides crystal clear phone calls.

From a Bluetooth perspective the headphones are Compatible with aptX and AAC codecs.

Proprietary 45 mm large-aperture drivers deliver exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range, with deep, accurate bass response.

Over-ear design for excellent sound isolation in loud environments.

ATH-M50xBT

The only disappointment feature of these headphones is perhaps the fact that they only come in black.

3. Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones

There is a lot of controversy about Beats as a headphone brand. Some say that it has great Bass, and pretty much nothing else.

Others say that it is simply another over priced product owned by Apple.

Whatever your feelings are about Beats by Dre headphones they certainly are one of the biggest names in the Wireless noise cancelling headphones market.

The third entrant on the list are the Beats Solo 3 wireless headphones. These headphones pack an amazing 40 hours of battery life and so much more.

The sound from these headphones is quality, delivering premium playback with fine-tuned acoustics that maximize clarity, breadth, and balance.

Thanks to the comfortable cushion ear cups the sound is enhanced by the near elimination of outside noise.

Beats Studio 3 Wireless

Battery

When the battery is low there will usually be a sound that indicates this. Beats Solo 3 wireless headphones come with 3 hours of battery life  from fast charging of 5 minutes.

This is possible due to the fast fuel technology implemented by Beats.

The battery has an LED fuel gauge, and you charge the headphones via micro USB cable.

On Ear Controls

Quick Start Guide

With the help of the efficient W1 Apple chip, your beats headphones are optimized for use with your apple devices.

The headphones are compatible with class 1 Bluetooth devices which enable them to reach connectivity levels of well above the standard 10m of 33 ft.

The Beats Solo Wireless 3 headphones come in at a lightweight of 215 grams or 7.58 oz

The headphones also come with a beam forming mic for quality phone calls.

2. TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphone

Not only is this a solid set of headphones from a build and sound perspective, but it is one of the longest lasting headphones on the market in as far as battery life is concerned.

The TaoTronics active noise cancelling headphones come with an amazing 40 hours of battery life.

This is equivalent to 2 full days of wireless music heaven.

For the heavy user who makes us of their headphones for an average 8 hours per day, the TaoTronics headphones can last an entire week before they need a recharge.

Tao Tronics ANC Headphones

With the power of  Active noise cancellation you can enjoy your music without any distractions.

You may see on the packaging or around the internet, people lauding the Bass of the TaoTronics.

If you do manage to listen to the headphones to the extent that the battery is low then you can continue listening in wired mode with the accompanying cable.

But when I tested them for the better part of 2 weeks in busy city streets I came to a very different conclusion than consensus.

The sound itself has been designed to be neutral. This means that no particular sound has been optimized extensively.

You can enjoy your music without any particular frequency over bearing your song.

The Bass is good, and is accompanied with balanced mids and bright highs.

The EDM and hip hop crowd might prefer the beats headphones above, but for the pop and jazz fans these are fantastic.

The other feature that I did find to be excellent with these headphones is the call quality.

The ability of the TaoTronics to deliver such great call quality is a function of the included CVC 6.0 noise cancelling microphone included in the headphones. Even in loud environments the call quality is superb in these headphones.

The 90 degree swiveling ear cups ensure that your headphones can be packed away conveniently in the accompanying carrying case.

The protein ear pads are super soft and ensure that you can listen to these headphones for extended listening sessions.

The adjustable headband is ergonomic and fits excellently to ensure maximum comfort.
